A new concept in the Chandigarh takeaway industry, food lab has tried to incorporate fun elements of molecular gastronomy but only in their bubbly drinks using dry ice. Located in the hub of takeaways in sector 8, this place is a must try.
The menu has a wide variety to choose from including American, Italian and fusion bites, waffles, pancakes & beverages.
Mint Mojito Lemonade, Pink Lemonade & Basil Lemonade: These were really nice to look at because of the smoke from dry ice but were on a little sweeter side. They were refreshing and I liked the basil lemonade the most.
Nutella Ferrero Rocher Shake: This is what I’d prefer over the lemonades. It was aptly thick with lots of nutella and decently controlled amount of sugar. A must try here for all the chocolate and nutella lovers.
Blueberry Smoothie: This was a nice and refreshing smoothie with lots of blueberry flavor, correct amount of sugar and consistency.
Chippotle Fries: The fries were perfectly crisp, mixed with tangy & spicy herb mix and topped with lots of chipotle mayo and some cheese sauce. The fries weren’t soggy and that’s the best part but the sauces were too much.
Nachos Fries: This was a mix of fries and nachos in a jar topped with cheese sauce and some parsley. Two things in one jar!

Hawaiian Salad: This was a salad with lots of lettuce and veggies tossed in a mayo, mustard dressing with some pineapple. It was nice and refreshing but I wish it had more pineapple and some jalapenos.
Mexican Veg Tacos: These were flour tortillas stuffed with some sauteed veggies, sauces and cheese and grilled. The tacos weren’t crisp and more close to quesadillas, so won’t recommend them if you are looking for tacos.
Paneer Makhani Burger: This was really nice. Fresh burger buns filled with paneer makhani, may and lettuce. Definitely recommended if you’re a vegetarian and want to eat something different. The paneer makhani was rightly spiced and went well in the burger.
Veg Alfredo Pasta: The pasta was cooked decently good with lots of veggies and a luscious white sauce. Though I restrain from eating pasta anywhere except home but this one was cooked close to al dente!
Truffled Mushroom Naanzas: Okay so this was the dish I was super excited to try because naanzas are a new concept in Chandigarh but the bubble got burst. It was quite similar to a pizza, base being thicker than naans. Though the topping and sauces were good but I couldn’t taste any truffle oil. The base wasn’t crisp but it was super fresh.

Cookies & Cream Pancakes: At last my favorite at this place. The pancakes are super soft and fluffy, made using their in house pancake mix, topped with lots of chocolate sauce, oreos and chocolate ice cream. This is the most recommended thing here!
Taste: 3.75/5
Portion: 4/5
Service: 3.75/5
Price: 4/5
All in all, the food was good in terms of quality of ingredients, freshness & portion but some dishes lacked the charm. The pricing is quite decent, averaging around 700 for a meal for two. With a few hits and few misses this place should surely be on your list of must tries whenever you visit sector 8. Though their concept of combining food and lab fizzles out with some use in presentation and the dry ice in lemonades but some of the dishes are worth trying. My favorites being Nutella fererro rocher shake, Paneer makhani burger and Cookies & cream pancakes.
